Fire protection is the gear a building keeps ready for the first few minutes of a fire: extinguishers, fire blankets, hose reels, exit signs, emergency lights and smoke alarms. We supply it, install it and make sure it suits the space it is going into.
You need it if you are opening a shop, fitting out an office, taking on a workshop, looking after a block of units or renting out a house. We work from the Central Coast through Lake Macquarie to Newcastle, and most jobs start with a walk around the building.
What’s included
- Portable fire extinguishers. We supply types that match the risks in your building and mount them where people can see and grab them.
- Fire blankets. Wall mounted in kitchens, tea rooms and other cooking areas, in plain view and within easy reach.
- Fire hose reels. We fit new reels and swap out worn ones, with a cabinet or cover where the spot calls for one.
- Exit signs and emergency lighting. Lit exit signs and emergency lights that show the way out when the power goes off.
- Smoke alarms. Supplied and fitted for homes, rentals and small premises.
- Location signage. A sign above each item so anyone can spot it from across the room.
- Brackets and cabinets. Wall brackets, vehicle brackets and weatherproof cabinets that keep equipment secure, clean and off the floor.
How it works
- Call or message. Tell us what the building is, what happens in it and what equipment is already there. A few photos help.
- Site visit. We walk the space with you, look at the layout and the risks, and note what is needed and where it should go.
- Quote and install. You get a written quote that lists every item. Once you say yes, we book a time and fit the lot.
- Handover. We show you where each item is and what it is for, then give you a written list of what was installed and where.
Choosing the right equipment
Extinguishers are not all the same. Each type is made for certain kinds of fire, and the wrong one can make a fire worse. A commercial kitchen, a mechanic’s workshop, a server room and a storeroom full of cardboard each call for something different.
What a building needs depends on its size, what it is used for and what is kept in it. We explain what applies to yours while we are standing in it, in plain words, and we will not sell you gear you have no use for. Some jobs involve electrical or plumbing work, such as wiring in a new exit sign or connecting a hose reel to the water supply. Where that is the case, we tell you up front how that part will be handled.
Where it goes matters
Good equipment in a bad spot is not much help. An extinguisher behind a stack of boxes, a blanket in a locked cupboard or an exit sign hidden by a hanging banner will let you down on the day.
We put equipment where people naturally walk, close to the way out and clear of the thing most likely to catch fire.
Equipment is there for a small fire caught early by someone who feels safe to act. If there is any doubt at all, get everyone out and call Triple Zero (000).
Common questions
What equipment does my building need?
There is no honest answer without a look, because it comes down to the building, how it is used and what is stored there. We walk through with you and explain what applies.
Can you replace old equipment I already have?
Yes. We look at what is on the walls now, tell you what can stay in service and what has reached the end of its life, and quote only for what needs replacing. If the old gear can be kept going with a service, that goes on our maintenance round instead.
Do you work on homes as well as businesses?
Yes. For a house, the usual starting point is smoke alarms, a fire blanket for the kitchen and an extinguisher for the garage or shed.
Will you show us how to use the equipment?
At handover we show you where everything is and what each item is meant for. We can also come back for a longer staff walk-through. For formal training, a registered training organisation (RTO) is the right place, and we can suggest where to look.
